Conservatory Project Timeline

If you’re getting a new conservatory, it’s helpful to know how long the work’s going to take. This will make it easier to plan your conservatory project and get it done when you want.

To help you out, we’ve put together a timeline for your conservatory project. Make sure you only treat this as a guide though – your conservatory could take more or less time to install.

How long will a conservatory project take?

Research: 1 week

It’s crucial to ensure that you spend a significant amount of time looking for the right tradesperson for your project. You’ll need to start by researching a range of companies and getting quotes. If you decide to use our service, our companies will normally contact you within 48 hours of you making your enquiry.

After you’ve found some conservatory installers, you’ll need to compare their quotes and pick the best one. If you’ve found them through our service, you can visit their profile page to read their customer reviews. You can also ask them for references.

Surveying and measuring: 1 day – 1 week

Your installer will start by surveying the area where you want your conservatory to be. They’ll also take detailed measurements so your conservatory panels can be manufactured. It’s hard to say how long this will take as it depends on the size of your conservatory and the weather, but it shouldn’t take longer than a week.

Building and electrics: 1-2 weeks

Once the measurements for your conservatory have been confirmed, your installer will lay the foundations and build the walls. They’ll also fit any electrics that you’ve asked for. This should take between 1 and 2 weeks but can take longer if your conservatory is quite large.

Frame and roof fitting: 1-2 weeks

After the walls are up, your installer will fit the frames, windows and roof and add any bespoke details. This will probably take 1-2 weeks.

Total time: 3-6 weeks

So now you should have a rough idea of how long your conservatory project might take. Remember that your installer might not be able to start work straight away, so you might have to wait for them to become available.
